Chapter 7: Long-form Visual Storytelling

Many are familiar with photographer Gordon Parks' iconic image of Ella Watson standing in front of a U.S. flag holding a mop in one hand and a broom in the other, known as American Gothic. However, Parks' worked on a longer term project about Watson and her personal life which included raising her two grandchildren on her own. You can see Parks' extended work in the Library of Congress archive.
